Looking for great dog care in Bedford and have questions? Check below to see if your query has been answered by tapping on the question. Alternatively, feel free to call or message me to find out more.

What do you do in case of an emergency?

In the unlikely event of an emergency I will immediately call you to let you know. During the initial consultation I will take down all your emergency contact details. If vet assistance is needed, I will bring your dog to your nominated vet or, depending on the circumstances, to the closest at the time. I am dog first aid trained so that I am able to provide immediate care prior to transportation to the vet.

How do you transport the dogs?

I have a fully insured dedicated van which has 6 bespoke crates fitted. The van features a temperature controlled air vent, hygienic flooring, towels, water and vet beds to make sure every dog is transported in safety and comfort. Every crate has two doors which is in line with safety standards as there must always be an emergency exit available.

Are you insured and do you have a DBS check?

Yes, I am both fully insured and I have a clear DBS check that I am happy to show to my clients.

Do you know dog first aid?

Yes, I am a qualified dog first aider and I keep up to date with current first aid practices through regular training.

Do you walk dogs in bad weather?

Yes, I walk in all weathers, good dog care does not discriminate. Your dog will be towelled off and brushed before returning home.

Do you walk dogs off lead?

Yes. In the initial consult we will discuss your dog’s recall as well as their favourite rewards (toys, treats). For the first few walks I will keep your dog on a normal lead or long line until I am comfortable that they can run, play and return safely. As with my dog, I will only let your dog off lead when it is safe to do so, and I have your written consent.

Do you accept all breeds?

I take each dog on its own merit and not on reputation of particular breeds. I meet all dogs before I walk them. However, I reserve the right to refuse to walk any dog. I am also unable to take any banned breeds or dogs under a Dog Control Order.

What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?

I select which dogs walk together and introductions are made carefully. If I find a that there is imbalance within the group I will make changes accordingly and inform you of my decision. I want all of Fetch Club’s dogs to enjoy their walks together.

What security measures do you have in place?

Your house key will be kept in a safe at all times when not in use. Should your key be lost or stolen, I will let you know immediately. Not only do I provide dog care in Bedford, I pride myself on looking out for my clients’ homes as if they are my own and ensure all exit doors are locked before I leave.

Do you walk bitches in season?

No. During this time I would advise switching to the drop-in service, during which I will ensure I play games and mentally exercise your dog as well as the normal drop-in routine.

How many dogs are walked at one time?

I walk up to 6 dogs in a pack. I take dog care very seriously, I have checked local Bedford council rules and ensured that I am operating safely and legally with the number of dogs I walk.

What equipment do you use?

Leads: I use large halti leads as I find them versatile and sturdy.
For pullers: For dogs who pull I use a gentle leader and reinforce good heel positions with treats or praise.
Van: My van is equipped with bespoke crates with compression locks and emergency exits on every crate.
Poo bags: I use degradable poo bags.
Toys: I do not use tennis balls as I find them to be a choking hazard especially for larger dogs. Instead I use rubber rings or larger toys which cannot be choked on if caught at the wrong angle. Toys are not always used as some dogs find it harder to share.
Treats: Boiled chicken, cocktail sausage and JR Pet Products pâté are my go-to treats, but your dog’s dietary requirements will be discussed in the consultation.

Will my home be clean?

In the initial consultation, I will ask you to talk me through where you keep your cleaning products and poop disposal set up in case of any accidents. I will remove my walking boots before entering your property and your dog will have his/her paws wiped, be towelled down and brushed before coming in.

How do I pay?

I accept cash, bank transfer and direct debit.

Do you walk on weekends or bank holidays?

This can be arranged for regular clients, however this may impact on my price structure. Please contact me for more details.

Can I cancel?

You are free to cancel at any time, but please give 24 hours notice.
