Dog trainers on a mission!

Fetch Club Cambridgeshire provides specialist dog training services for pet dogs, so that both dog and owner can live happy lives together. We are passionate about helping dogs achieve a fulfilled life and enhancing the relationship that they have with their owner.

We take pride in our work and we love to help transform the lives of the average dog owner, so that they can live the life they dream of with their beloved companion. It’s important to us that every dog is happy and healthy, and that each of our clients can enjoy the love and fun that having a dog can bring to their home.

We are driven by results, and enjoy our success stories as much as our clients do. We take pleasure in being able to be the trainers who can genuinely help. Our residential dog training Board and Train service can provide huge transformations for our clients in Cambridgeshire.

Residential Dog Training

Residential dog training, or as we like to call it, the Board and Train, is our most popular training program.

We take dogs with any kind of problem behaviour - from pulling on the lead to separation anxiety, to reactivity or poor recall.

We work with each dog for a minimum of 2 weeks* in order to achieve goals we set and agree with the owner.

Your dog will stay with one of our trainers in a home environment and receive training every single day. We love this approach as it gives us the chance to build a solid relationship with your dog in order to get the best results.

Your dog will train with us, cuddle with us, sleep in our homes and be a loved member of the family during their stay with us.

*The length of your dog’s stay will be determined by the behaviours you would like us to work on, and the goals we set. This ensures we can provide the best results. Every dog is different, and some just take a little extra time.

What’s included?

  • We are happy to collect your dog from your home, wherever you live across the UK or in Cambridgeshire. Your dog will travel in a dedicated vehicle designed with the safety and comfort of your dog in mind.

  • Every dog is different! Whilst we’ve worked with hundreds of dogs and seen lots of the same types of problem behaviours, we prefer to adjust our approach in accordance with each dog, their breed, their needs and of course your needs too.

  • We provide daily updates so that you are kept in the loop with your dog’s training and how they’re getting on. We love being able to offer this transparency, and it’s really important to us that our clients are a part of their dog’s training too.

  • We got into training dogs because we love them, and we care deeply about their safety. This is why we care about things like recall and other behaviours; because we care about them staying safe, in your homes and in your care. This is reflected in the way we care for dogs. Your dog will stay in our homes. When they sleep they will be warm and cosy. When it’s hot, we will keep them watered and ventilated. We prioritise healthy eating and proper exercise. Accidents happen - your dog will never be left in it. We keep our homes and your dog’s bedding clean and comfortable, just as you would at home. We are friendly with the local vets, canine first aid trained and know exactly what to do with your dog in the unlikely event of an emergency. We’re also friends with groomers, so we can get your pooch pampered if it suits. Your dogs comfort and happiness are our top priority.

  • We are invested in making sure your dog is as ready as possible to go home with all their shiny new training. This includes proofing behaviours, which basically means we will ensure that your dog is capable of performing the required behaviours in different environments, or, if needed, with different people and/or dogs. We want to prepare every dog for the success they’re about to have with you.

  • Your dog will learn loads whilst they’re with us, and you might wonder how you can keep up with the training or what the next steps are for when they come home. This is where the end of our package steps up. When you collect your dog, you will get an in-depth lesson which will include both theory and practical elements. You’ll then be sent home with a plan and a guide book, to ensure your dog’s smooth transition back into their home environment.

  • We care about our clients. We really want to provide the very best service we can, and whilst yes, we love dogs, we do in fact love people too. We want to see you happy with your dog and we are here to offer support and answers to your questions. We encourage our Board and Train clients to reach out to us with updates or questions at any time after their training, and are happy to talk things through or meet in person to see how things are going.

Does Residential Dog Training work?

Professional

Lots of people have dogs, but not everyone is a dog trainer. That’s ok! Not everyone has to be. But sometimes when you’re wanting help with something at home, it’s best to turn to a professional to get the help you need, without having to take up a new career just to get there!

Skilled

We work with dozens of dogs every single day. We have trained hundreds, and have acquired techniques and skills which take years to get good at. If your dog were to live with a trainer who is well-versed in handling, managing, training and living with dogs, what positive impact do you think it could have?

Communication

Your dog may be coming to live with us, but we are person-centred in our approach and feel it’s extremely important to keep you in the loop and in the conversation when it comes to how your dog is being trained. You will be able to follow along and ask questions every step of the way.

Your Training

Once we’ve completed our work with your dog, it’s time for your training. We approach our handovers like they are a training session, where it’s up to us to show you the why and how of every single thing your dog has learned. We are invested in ensuring you are ready to continue with the new things your dog has learned, in order to ensure their success going forwards.

Guides

We have put bucket-loads of thought in how best to ensure our training sticks, from methodology to proofing to reps upon reps. Not only do we send out prep information before you drop your dog off, but we are excited to be able to provide a Board and Train guide to each of our clients which provides detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to continue things at home.

Results

We are proud of this service because it works. We have had extremely positive feedback from clients we’ve worked with, who use words such as ‘transformed’ and ‘different dog’. Our clients are able to take their dogs to places they couldn’t have dreamed of before, we have literally saved dogs lives with this training and kept them in their loving homes where their owners have been out of other options. Our results are why it is our most popular training program.
