FAQs

Looking for great dog care in Bedford and have questions? Check below to see if your query has been answered. Alternatively, feel free to message us to find out more.

What do you do in case of an emergency?

In the unlikely event of an emergency we will immediately call you to let you know. During the initial consultation we will take down all your emergency contact details. If vet assistance is needed, we will bring your dog to your nominated vet or, depending on the circumstances, to the closest at the time. We are dog first aid trained so that we’re able to provide immediate care prior to transportation to the vet.

How do you transport the dogs?

Fetch Club has two fully insured dedicated vans which have bespoke crates fitted. Both vans feature a temperature controlled air vent, hygienic flooring, towels, water and vet beds to make sure every dog is transported in safety and comfort. The crates are made of galvanised steel with 5 stage powder coating which protects them from rust, and the doors feature compression locks which provide extreme strength to the integrity of the crates.

Do you walk dogs off lead?

Yes. In the initial consult we will discuss your dog’s recall as well as their favourite rewards (toys, treats). For the first few walks your dog will be kept on a normal, fixed length lead or long line until we are comfortable that they can run, play and return safely. Your dog will only be let off lead when it is safe to do so, and we have your written consent.

Do you accept all breeds?

For dog walking, each dog is taken on its own merit and not on reputation of particular breeds. All dogs are taken on a get-to-know you solo walk before they join a pack walk. However, Fetch Club reserves the right to refuse to walk any dog. For dog training, any breed is welcome. We are however unable to work with any banned breeds or dogs under a Dog Control Order.

Could I work at Fetch Club?

You sure could! We are always on the lookout for great people, and we would love to hear from you. We have both dog walking and dog training positions available full time and part time, so if you’re interested, click on this text to find out more information.

What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog on the walk?

We select which dogs walk together and introductions are made carefully. If we find that there is imbalance within the group changes will be made accordingly and you will be informed. We want all of Fetch Club’s dogs to enjoy their walks together.

What security measures do you have in place?

Your house key will be kept in a safe at all times when not in use. Should your key be lost or stolen, you will be notified immediately. We pride ourselves on taking care of our clients’ homes as if they were our own and ensure all exit doors are locked before we leave. In accordance with GDPR laws, we pay a data protection fee to keep your data safe.

Do you walk females in season?

No. During this time we would advise switching to the drop-in service, during which we will ensure we play games and mentally exercise your dog as well as the normal drop-in routine.

How many dogs are walked at one time?

We are insured to walk 8 dogs per person.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured for both training and walking with a level of cover that we feel encompasses every possible eventuality for our service. We shopped around to find the best dog business insurance so that your dog is fully covered in our care.

Can I get a free in-home consultation?

We like to get to work as quickly as reasonably possible. Our consultations are email based, so that during our time with you we can immediately get to work on training.

Will my home be clean?

In the initial consultation, we will ask you to talk us through where you keep your cleaning products and poop disposal set up in case of any accidents. We remove walking boots before entering your property and your dog will have his/her paws wiped, be towelled down and brushed before coming in.

How do I pay?

We accept bank transfer and direct debits. Invoices can be viewed and downloaded in our dedicated app.

Do you walk on weekends or bank holidays?

Unfortunately we do not offer weekend or bank holiday services.

Can I cancel?

You are free to cancel at any time, but please give 24 hours notice for walks and 48 hours notice for training, otherwise full payment is due.

Can I book a one off training session?

Yes, during our consultation we will assess how many sessions or which service would suit you best and make a recommendation. One off training sessions are a great option!

Can I book a one off walk?

Due to the nature of our business and building packs appropriately with dogs who get to know each other, we are not able to accept one off or holiday cover walk requests.

Do you do puppy parties?

No, we don’t feel that over-socialising impressionable young puppies produces good behaviour in adult dogs. We always advocate for what we feel is best for you and your dog. We do offer group puppy classes and puppy socialisation packages which are a great solution to created a well socialised puppy.
